BRESLOW, MAX. 1881-1954. A group of items from the collection of materials related to Walt Whitman formed by Max Breslow between 1893 and 1920, some later. Including:
1. "The Last of the Sacred Army," 6 pp, extracted from United States Magazine and Democratic Review 10 (March 1842), pp 259–264. An early Whitman short story. Myerson E42.
2. Typed note from Thomas B. Harned to Mrs. R.K. Mackey, regarding the return of a "set of Whitman" signed by Horace Traubel. 1 p, Philadelphia, February 17, 1939. Folded, some soiling.
3. 4 letters from Henry Saunders to Max Breslow, Toronto, 1913 to 1915.
4. Typescript of a Whitman parody poem published in Poems and Sonnets, London, 1912.
5. The One Hundred and Twentieth Anniversary of the Birth of Walt Whitman, [Washington, DC]: The Library of Congress, 1939. Publisher's pictorial wrappers. Wrappers worn and soiled, joints cracking, browning.
6. Several cards with printed facsimiles of Walt Whitman quotes from his manuscripts, with facsimile Whitman signatures.
7. Numerous programs and meeting announcements related to the Walt Whitman fellowship.
8. Various pamphlets, post cards, clippings and other ephemera.
