8vo (225 x 143 mm). Publisher's maroon cloth, gilt, some fading to cloth, rubbing.
Provenance: Collection of Pauline and Ozzy Fletcher; sold to our consignor.

FIRST ENGLISH EDITION, INSCRIBED TO ENGLISH FEMINIST AND REFORMER ISABELLA ORMSTON FORD FROM HER SISTER BESSIE ("B. FORD"). The first English/Scottish edition (see Myerson) comprised of McKay's American sheets with a cancel title page, making up an edition of just 250 copies. This copy presented by Bessie Ford to her sister Isabella Ford. Ford was a founder of the International Labor Party (ILP), prominent suffragette, and Whitman acolyte. Myerson A12.1.b.
