JOHN LENNON SIGNED BAG ONE LITHOGRAPH.

Lithographic poster, signed ("John Lennon") in pencil below central motif, 760 x 584 mm, printed in black on white background, New York, Cinnamon Press, 1970. Light handling wear. Framed.
Provenance: Author and journalist Jonathan Cott, author and editor of numerous books, predominately focusing on music and has written articles for varied publications such as Rolling Stone, The New York Times, The New Yorker, The Los Angeles Times, The Village Voice, Vogue, Esquire, The Wall Street Journal, etc.

The title plate to John Lennon's controversial Bag One portfolio, presented by John Lennon to Jonathan Cott, who interviewed Lennon and Yoko Ono several times, and whose December 5, 1980 interview with Lennon was the final solo interview conducted before his death on December 8th of that year.
Lennon had created the "Bag One" drawings depicting his wedding and honeymoon with Yoko Ono and presented them to her in 1969. They were published the following year in a series of 15 lithographs, 7 of which caused controversy when they were confiscated by Scotland Yard as pornography. Lennon faced trial, but the case was dismissed.
