Footnotes

Among the best-known of all contemporary Japanese ceramists, Kondō Takahiro patented his signature ginteki (Silver Mist) glaze in 2004 and it has played a significant role in much of his subsequent practice. A combination of silver, frit (blended silica and fluxes) and other precious metals, during firing ginteki solidifies into droplets that, in the artist's words, "... take on an appearance that looks almost more like water than real water."
