Footnotes

Fujikasa Satoko's sculptures—capturing the movement of birds or water and evoking the geology of Yamaguchi Prefecture or Arizona's Antelope Canyon—have earned her a global reputation in recent years. Her award-winning thesis work stands on permanent display in the entrance of the Ibaraki Ceramic Art Museum, while other pieces are in the collections of major institutions across the United States, including the Metropolitan Museum of Art.
