Footnotes

Determined to find a way of living and working by the sea, Sakiyama Takayuki has lived for many years on the coast of the Izu Peninsula, drawing inspiration from the strength and power of the waves, as well as the patterns they leave on a sandy beach. This version of Chōtō (Listening to the Waves) marks an almost complete departure from conventional vessel form.
