A TARNISHED SILVER INGOT

Probably Qing dynasty
Of pinched oval shape with tapering base, traces of horizontal casting lines, the flat top with a rectangular panel cast with three characters reading Liangchichang.

A larger silver ingot (4 3/4in wide) was sold at Sotheby's New York, 21 March 2018, lot 626, made in Xinjiang province and was impressed to the top with two marks in kaishu, each reading daoyan (officially exanimated), together with a third mark written in Xinjiang native language.
