Footnotes
The reference 4768 by Rolex incorporates one of the most complex movements used by Rolex. With the clean design of its case and the faceted tear drop lugs, the 4768 presents a very different appearance to its sporty cousin the 6036. The two references used the Valjoux 72C calibre movement and production of the pair appears to have occurred in tandem for a short period in the late 1940s and 1950s. Few examples of reference 4768 were made, making this a desirable watch for today's collectors.
