8vo. Color frontispiece and 15 wood-engraved color and gilt plates, decorative headers and borders, additional suite of 15 loose monochrome plates hors texte, printed in dark blue ink. Publisher's green wrappers printed in red and gilt, paper-covered slipcase with small illustrated label pasted on front; additional suite of plates in brown paper chemise. Rubbed at corners, light toning, a few stains to slipcase.
LIMITED EDITION, number 104 of 145 printed on imperial japan paper with the additional plates. Zvorykin worked in the Neo-Russian art movement style influenced by Ivan Bilibin. The text of the play is a French translation of the work of Pushkin, dramatizing the life of Boris Godunov.
