TAFT, WILLIAM HOWARD. 1857-1930. Typed Letter Signed ("Wm H. Taft") as Secretary of War, to Theodore Roosevelt sending the gift of a book, 1 p, 8vo, April 17, 1907, on War Dept letterhead, some fading to signature, matted and framed.

Taft sends Roosevelt a copy of a recent publication by Dominador Gomez, an important union leader and politician in the Philippines during the first decade of the 20th century. In part: "My Dear Mr. President: / I send you a copy of Dominador Gomez's political pronunciamentos ... Even Cicero could not give himself such a sendoff."
