CODY, WILLIAM "BUFFALO BILL." 1846-1917. Portrait Photograph Signed and Inscribed ("Brother Will") to his sister Julia Cody Goodman, 8 x 6 inch gelatin silver print, full-length seated portrait of Buffalo Bill just inside his Wild West Show tent smoking a cigar, inscribed at top, "Julia / Brother Will / 1894"), mounted on larger card, card trimmed, with small loss at base of photograph from previous matte.
WITH: Autograph Letter Signed ("Brother") to "Dear Sister" (Julia Cody Goodman) regarding his health and tour plans, 1 p, 4to, on pictorial "Buffalo Bill and the 101 Ranch Shows" letterhead, Rock Hill, N.C. [sic], October 26, 1916, center crease, tipped to board, matted and framed with above.
RARE ORIGINAL PHOTOGRAPH INSCRIBED TO HIS SISTER JULIA, dated 1894, framed with a 1916 Autograph Letter Signed to "Dear Sister": "... I am gaining strength and weight right along ... I am on two or three deals for a show for myself for next season...." Photographs of Cody signed to his family are very rare in the marketplace.
