FIRST EDITION. "The Spanish-American War was the first war in which X-rays were used for diagnostic purposes. This is the first report on the application of X-rays to military medicine" (Garrison-Morton-Norman 2687.2). One of the earliest atlases of X-rays, this volume includes 38 photographic illustrations of X-ray apparatus and many fine plates of roentgenograms of the limbs, skull, and thorax. All but one of the plates are heliotypes. Cushing U31; Heirs of Hippocrates 2217; Norman 267.
