FREUD ON "CRYSTALIZING PUBLIC OPINION."

Typed Letter Signed ("Sigm") to his nephew Edward Bernays, noting of Bernays recent Crystalizing Public Opinion. 2 pp, 224 x 151 mm, single sheet of "Prof. Dr. Freud" letterhead, Wien, May 11, 1924, old fold, light wear.

"It is very interesting, truly American."

Edward Bernays, Freud's nephew, is considered the father of public relations, and his 1923 book Crystalizing Public Opinion, the first complete work in the field. Having made his name as an effective publicity strategist, the work set down his theories, and interestingly supported them with the psychology of the individual and of the group. Freud's note here at the end of a family letter comments on Bernays groundbreaking work, finding it "truly American."
