Folio (298 x 207 mm). Title with xylographic heading and woodcut vignette of St. John the Baptist, A1r printed in red and black within woodcut historiated border, numerous woodcut initials (the larger historiated showing putti at play), printer's device on last printed leaf verso, and numerous geometric woodcut diagrams in margins and text. Leather backed wood boards, brass clasps. Intermittent some light browning and staining, last few leaves with marginal repairs, affecting a few diagrams, a few marginal diagrams shaved, without final blank.
Provenance: Alfredo Dusmet de Smours (1879-1964, bookplate "Ex Libris Marchionis Dusmet").

FIRST COLLECTED EDITION in Latin of Euclid's works. Translated from the Greek by Bartolommeo Zamberti with a long preface and biography of Euclid. The 13 books of the Elements are followed by the Phenomena, Specularia, Perspectiva, and Data, together with the commentaries of Hypsicles, Theon, Pappus, and Marinus. "a very important edition . . .
