4to (194 x 134 mm). Printer's device of a printing press on title, numerous woodcut initials. Late 19th century blue straight-grained Morocco by H. Faulkner (with binder's paper label on front free endpaper), elaborated gilt on spine, covers decorated in gilt and blind, marbled endpapers, all edges gilt. Rubbed at extremities, light staining to binding, lacking final blank (N6), erased ownership inscriptions on title, some light dampstaining, browning and spotting.
Provenance: Sir Thomas Edward Watson (English Baronet, 1851-1921, bookplate).

FIRST EDITION, financed by Yves Cavellat, principal of the Collège de Quimper. Adams G444; Renouard II, 460-462.
