TERIADE, E., editor. A collection of 9 Verve magazines (containing 14 numbers) with original lithographs, all Paris, 1938-1952, all roughly 360 x 270 mm, including:
1. Issue 2 (Spring 1938). 4 original lithographs by Kandinsky and Masson, original wrappers, box (worn).
2. Double-issue 5-6, 1939. Publisher's wrappers after Maillol, 16 color lithographs after Braque, Guys, Matisse, Klee, Roualt, Derain, Leger, and Bonnard.
3. Issue 8, 1940. Publisher's lithographic wrappers after a gouache paper cut-out by Matisse, "Symphonie Chromatique," double-page color lithograph by Bonnard.
4. Issue 13, 1945. Publisher's green lithographic wrappers by Matisse, "De la couleur" issue, 3 original lithographs by Matisse, minor chipping to spine, and corners, pages reinforced, not affecting interior lithographs.
5. Double issue 17-18, 1947. Publisher's pictorial color wrappers after Bonnard, original color lithograph by Bonnard.
6. Double issue 21-22, 1948. Publisher's pictorial wrappers over card after Matisse, original lithograph frontis by Matisse.
7. Issue 24, 1950. Publisher's lithographic pictorial wrappers after Chagall.
8. Double issue 25-26. Publisher's pictorial wrappers after a design by Picasso, lithographic frontis and title page after Picasso.
9. Double issue 27-28, 1952. Original boards after Braque, 27 original lithographs by Braque, Matisse, Laurens, Giacometti, Masson, Leger, Miró, Borès, Gromaire, and Chagall.

Saleroom notices

The lithographs in Verve 2 (Spring 1938) should say "after" Kandinsky and Masson.
