Folio. 54 lithographic plates by Matisse. Publisher's wrappers with design and lettering by Matisse on front wrapper, original glassine, board chemise and slipcase. Slipcase a little scuffed, chemise broken, slight offsetting.

LIMITED EDITION, SIGNED BY MATISSE ON THE LIMITATION PAGE, number 72 of 1,200 printed. Completely executed in lithography, including the text, which was reproduced from Matisse's calligraphy. Arnold 2169; Cramer 36; Rauch 174; The Artist and the Book 202.
