The Civil and Natural History of Jamaica. London: Printed for the author, at the College of Physicians, 1756.
Folio (360 x 230 mm). 2 engraved folding maps, 49 engraved plates. 20th century quarter calf and marbled boards, spine titled in gilt with six raised bands. Rubbed, scattered browning and foxing, minor dampstaining to some margins.

FIRST EDITION. Written by the Irish botanist and physician Patrick Browne, who commissioned the plates of flora (38) and animals (11) from the illustrator G.D. Ehret. The maps depict the whole island, and "A correct draught of Port Royal and Kingston." Great Flower Books, p 52; Nissen BBI 255; Stafleu & Cowan TL2 842.
