ZURITA, JERÓNIMO. 1512-1580.

Anales de la Corona de Aragón. Zaragoza: Diego Dormer 1669-1671.
7 volumes (including index). Folio (285 x 210 mm). Titles in red and black with woodcut vignettes, full-page woodcut of the arms of Aragon in volume 6, numerous woodcut initials and tailpieces. Early vellum, inked titles to spines, traces of ties at foredge. Light staining and wear to covers, staining and spotting throughout.

Zurita was the official chronicler of the Kingdom of Aragon, and was appointed by King Philip II of Spain as Secretary to the Inquisition. This detailed history was first published in parts between 1562 and 1580.
