MISSAL, USE OF PASSAU

Missale Pataviense cum additionibus, gothic letter, printed in red and black throughout, full-page woodcut of St. Stephen by Lucas Cranach on verso of title, musical notation, woodcut initials, printer's device at end, woodcut diagram at the end of the Calendar, 7 LEAVES OF THE CANON PRINTED ON VELLUM with full-page woodcut of the Crucifixion copied after design by Lucas Cranach, and large historiated initial "T" depicting a scene of the Mass, and smaller image of a starred cross, all of which are illuminated in gold and colours at a later date, inner margin of title strengthened with old paper just touching letters, short tear repaired to 3 leaves (2 just touching letters), ink annotation in an early hand in lower margin of fol. 130v and 131, seventeenth century calf, spine gilt, marbled edges, spine worn with small losses to lettering label [Adams L1192; Holstein, Cranach 89 and 29; Weale-Bohatta 775], folio (286 x 195mm.), Vienna, Johannes Winterburger, 3 May 1512
