A pearl-set silver-gilt mounted dress sword in the Ottoman taste
Eastern Europe, 19th Century

with broad curved fullered single-edged blade, the hilt with silver-gilt cross-guard and quillons finely engraved with foliage, the former set on one side with a pearl on an enamelled ground in imitation of turquoises, and the latter with bud-shaped terminals, flattened scrolled silver-gilt grip engraved with scrolling foliage on one side and applied with a filigree panel set with three pearls en suite with the cross-guard, in original black velvet-covered wooden scabbard with locket, chape and suspension mounts all en suite with the hilt, the last each with a ring for suspension
