An early 18th Century walnut longcase clock

The hood with deep moulded cornice over a carved fret on three-quarter brass mounted Doric columns, the long door with inlaid panels and lenticle on a panelled base and apron. (restoration to the base). The 12 inch square brass dial framed by cherub and crown spandrels, silvered Roman and Arabic chapter ring with half-quarter marks, the matted centre with large subsidiary seconds dial, ringed winding squares and decorated chamfered date aperture. The movement with five knopped and ringed pillars, anchor escapement and inside countwheel strike on a bell. Case possibly associated. 2.21m (7ft 3ins) high.
