Two English Bookplates

Late 18th/early 19th century

Copper plate engravings including a bookplate on laid paper for General Alexander Ross (1742-1827) depicting a coat of arms over a ribbon with Latin motto and "General A. Ross," 3 1/2 x 2 1/2 in.; and a bookplate on woven paper for Sir Thomas Gage, Baronet, depicting a coat of arms over a ribbon with Latin motto and "Sir Thomas Gage Bart/Hengrave Hall, Suffolk," 3 5/8 x 2 1/2 in.
