Wey, William (c. 1407-1476)

The Itineraries of William Wey, Fellow of Eton College, to Jerusalem, A.D. 1458 and A.D. 1462; and to Saint James of Compostella, A.D. 1456, from the Original Manuscript in the Bodleian Library, Two vols. 8vo, red paper-covered boards with brown calf spines, title gilt to spines. Vol. I is text, in Latin and Middle English. Vol. II consists of a very long foldout facsimile map printed in color and mounted on linen, with an introductory note. A copy of an alternate version of the note (pages i-iv) is laid in, previous owner's bookplates (boards rubbed, worn, and chipped, spines rubbed, foxing to page edges). 10 ½ x 8 ¼ in., London: Printed by J.B. Nichols and Sons for the Roxburghe Club, 1857.
