Painted Basswood Dome-top Trunk,

Shaftsbury, Vermont, c. 1825
Square iron hinges, wrought butterfly clasp in front, large escutcheon plate, bail handles on sides, flange rails nailed to inside box opening, painted and sponged in green, with fine striping, 154cm wide, 30cm deep, 25cm high (61in wide, 12in deep, 10 1/8in high).
