Pennsylvania, 19th century.
Lid with applied molding across front and sides, over dovetailed case set in molded base with carved arch and bracket feet, skirt carved with scallops and broken central pendant, painted with yellow dots and black squiggling lines on dark brown ground, (break on skirt, scuffs, paint loss, lid locked), 68cm wide, 40cm deep, 48cm high (27 3/8in wide, 16 1/4in deep, 19 1/4in high).
