Miniature Grain-Painted Step Back Cupboard,
Groton, Massachusetts, c. 1900.
Case joined with cut nails, internal shelves through-tenoned to side walls, doors open on square iron hinges and wooden latches attached with modern screws, molded horizontal edges and carved bracket feet, traces of old paper lining on bottom shelf, exterior sides and front painted to simulate chestnut grain, (surface stains, minor chips), 22cm wide, 12cm deep, 53cm high (9 1/4in wide, 5 3/4in deep, 21 1/2in high).
