Painted Spice Chest,
probably New England, late 19th century.
Solid plank top, bottom, and sides, nailed to form case for three tiers of four drawers, with bottom tier of three larger drawers, all nailed with tongue-and-groove-jointed bottoms and matching white ceramic knobs, drawer fronts beveled and grain-painted with brown and yellow on red ground, 38cm wide, 15cm deep, 38cm high (15in wide, 6 1/2in deep, 15in high).
