Paint-decorated Six-board Chest,
probably Vermont, early 19th century.
Lid with applied cleats opens on square hinges over well with lidded till, case nailed with bootjack ends and conforming bracket molding on front legs, painted blue in "Green Eye" pattern on a buff ground, (hinges replaced, one loose, paint loss), 93cm wide, 38cm deep, 48cm high (37 5/8in wide, 15 1/8in deep, 19in high).
