Footnotes

Provenance
From The Silver Collection of Dr Andrew J Rainey

The crest presented here is that used by Adolphus Charles Alexander Albert Edward George Philip Louis Ladiscaus CAMBRIDGE (1868-1927) 1st Marquis of Cambridge, the son of Prince Francis Duke of Teck (1837-1900) by Princes Mary Adelaide (1833-1897). He was the younger brother of Princess Victoria Mary of Teck (1867-1953), Queen Consort of King George V of the UK. At the death of his father in 1900 he succeeded to the tile as Duke of Teck but in 1917 relinquished all of his German titles to become Marquess of Cambridge. This crest is therefore post 1917.
