Footnotes

Provenance
From The Silver Collection of Dr Andrew J Rainey

These are likely to be the assumed arms of John Julius ANGERSTEIN (1735-1823) a London businessman born in St Petersburg, Russia.

He was twice married and both of these marriages are represented in the arms. The first in 1771 to Anna CROCKETT (died 1783), widow of Charles CROCKETT, a daughter of Henry MUILMAN (1700-1772). Secondly in 1785 to Eliza LUCAS, widow Thomas LUCAS, daughter of Revd, Joseph PAYNE.
