A pair of George II silver waiters

Robert Abercromby, London 1743
Shaped-circular with acanthus and scroll rim, centred with varying engraved armorials, the paternal arms for the family WHEATHILL, who are descendants of Sir Richard WHEATHILL (1410-1485), on three paw supports with fur effect and claws, underside with scratch weights '8=17' and '9=1', diameter 17.5cm, together with a small pair of George III silver salvers, Richard Rugg, London 1765, shaped-circular with gadroon rims, engraved armorials to the centre, the paternal arms are for RUTTER of Exeter, the maternal arms are for BURTON of Longnor, Salop, all within rocooco scrolls and trailing foliage, on three scroll and stepped hoof feet, diameter 20cm, weight 41oz. (4)
