Each oval bellied form on spreading oval bases with bead rims, leaf-capped scroll handles with bead edging, side with engraved crest associated with the arms of the BANKES family, length 20cm, weight 32.9oz. (2)

This is the crest associated with the arms of the BANKES family of Corfe Castle and Kingston Lacy Dorset. At the time of assay (1772) the holder of the arms was Henry BARNES (1798-1776) who in 1753 had married Margaret WYNNE (1726-1822) the daughter of Revd. John WYNE (1667-1743) of Northop, Flintshire by Ann PUGH (1690-1778).
He was the son of John BANKES (1665-1714) by Margaret PARKER (1670-1733).
