A George III silver and glass butter dish and cover on stand

John Emes, London 1805
Oval form, the glass dish with diamond cut sides, the applied silver rim with Greek key border, shallow dome lift-off cover with unmarked acanthus bud finial on a leafy calyx, flanked with engraved armorial, further engraved armorial to the centre of the stand on four scroll bracket feet with anthemion over a matted ground, length of base 17.6cm, weight of silver 17.6oz.
