Each circular with gadroon rim on bracket feet, centred with the engraved arms of the THOM(P)SON family, most likely of Morpeth, Northumberland, diameter 20.4cm, together with a small matched pair of George III silver salvers, John Wakelin & William Taylor, London 1784, with incuse duty mark, the other Thomas Hannam & John Crouch II, London 1803, circular with varying gadroon borders and bracket feet, centre engraved with the quartered and impaled arms of William DICKINSON (1771-1837), diameter 20.3cm and 20.9cm, weight 57oz. (4)

These are the quartered and impaled arms of William DICKINSON (1771-1837) of Kingweston, Somerset and his wife Sophia SMITH (1784-1844) daughter of Samuel SMITH (1754-1834) of Woodhall Park, Hertfordshire an MP by Elizabeth Frances TURNOR (1756-1825). They were married in 1803, which corresponds to the second assay date.

William DICKINSON was the son and heir of William DICKINSON (1745-1806) of Kingweston, Somerset by Phillipa FULLER (1745-1806) daughter of Stephen FULLER of Brightling, Sussex by Elizabeth NOAKES. His parents were married in 1783 and this corresponds to the first assay date of 1784. He was an MP for Irchester (1796-1802), Lostwithel (1802-1806), Somerset (1806-1831).
