A set of four George III silver soup plates

John Wakelin & Robert Garrard, London 1801
Each of shaped-circular form with applied gadroon border, with later engraved armorial, reverse of each scratch marked with inventory numbers and weights, diameter 24cm, weight total 82oz. (4)

Footnotes

These are the arms of William GORE later ORMSBY-GORE (1779-1860) of Porkington, Salop and his wife Mary Jane ORMSBY (1781-1869). They married in 1815, and immediately afterwards William assumed the family name ORMSBY-GORE. We would as result expect that the engraving was made after the name change in 1815.
