A George III silver salver

probably John Mewburn, London 1812
Shaped-circular form the raised border with ornate leaf embellished shell and scroll rim, the centre later engraved with elaborate quartered and impaled arms of Simon WATSON-TAYLOR (1811-1903) of Erlestone House Wiltshire and his wife Hannah Charlotte HAY (1818-1887), all within a chased foliate band with scrolls, shell and diaper panels, on four open-work cast bracket feet, diameter 46.5cm, weight 69oz.
