A George III silver salver

maker's mark I.C, London 1771
Shaped-circular with bead rim, the raised border with varying flower heads between scrolls, centred with an shield armorial within a ribbon-tied foliate surround, on four claw and ball feet, diameter 41.3cm, weight 61.5oz.

Footnotes

These are the arms for William SANDS (sometimes SANDES or SANDYS) and Mary WALKER, who in 1767 were married at Castle Church Staffordshire. The WALKER family are recorded to have an origin at Killbeck in Leeds and Wilsick, both in Yorkshire.
