A Russian silver gilt mounted coconut cup and cover with portraits of the Czars

unknown maker 'MI', stamped 'Kiov', 84 zolotnik, circa 19th century
Of traditional form, the oval shaped nut carved with three profile busts of Peter the Great, Catherine I, and Empress Elizabeth, each in a circular cartouche surrounded by classical laurel leaves, their names carved in Cyrillic above, the lift off cover surmounted by a pine cone finial and carved with three Imperial crowns, the whole mounted in gilded strapwork, all on a knopped fluted pedestal foot, the gilding contrasting with silver bands of chased scrolling foliate and geometric decoration, height 27cm.
