various makers and dates
Comprising: a silver 'M.P.'s' card case, unknown maker 'AB', Birmingham 1905, curved rectangular form, a hinged cover with thumbpiece opening to reveal a hinged compartmentalised interior, a variety of inscriptions including 'Diplomat Regd. 474157' and 'Presented by the Trades Union Parliamentary Committee to Alexander Wilkie Esq, M.P., a Justice of the Peace and a Councillor for Newcastle Upon Tyne, as a token of respect and in recognition of long continued and valuable services', to the exterior embossed scrolls and a cartouche with an armorial for the City of Dundee and inscribed beneath 'Alex Wilkie M.P.'; together with a Continental silver-gilt minaudière, unknown maker 'GG', early 20th century French import marks, rectangular form, engine-turned silver exterior and removable pencil, gilt interior with compartments and coin slots, to the top two suspension rings and attached chain and finally a Continental silver card case, maker unknown, stamped 800, rectangular form, hinged cover, gilt interior, exterior engine-turned, weight total 11oz.
