A large late 19th century Meissen porcelain mythological figural group

after the 18th century model by J.J. Kändler,
modelled as a winged figure of Father Time holding an oval grisaille portrait of Augustus III reserved on a pink ground, flanked by a classical figure with flying drapery standing on a winged globe before a rockwork, palm tree and cloud finial surmounted by a further classical maiden, possibly depicting Victory holding a trumpet and laurel wreath, the corresponding naturalistic base centred by a crowned armorial cartouche with various trophies flanked to one side by a putto, the whole enamelled in pastel colours, the underside with underglaze blue crossed swords mark with three scratched cancellation marks, incised model number A 80 and impressed number 28, 38cm high

The portrait depicts Augustus III, the armorial depicts the Meissen crossed swords mark and the Saxon coat of arms, the original 18th century model was created for the name day of Franz Xaver, Prince of Saxony and Poland, on December 3rd 1765, and was meant to depict the glory of the electorate of Saxony.
