the male figure wearing a turquoise floral enamelled frock coat and jewelled and gilt heightened waist coat holding a posy of flowers, on naturalistic floral encrusted base, his female companion holding a a fan and wearing an elaborate gown with floral enamelled pink overskirt and sleeves, dipped net decoration and striped tiered underskirt, on similar naturalistic base, the undersides with underglaze blue crossed sword marks, the first with red painted number 23, the second with incised number 56 and cancellation mark,
