both clad in 18th century dress, the standing male figure wearing a pseudo classical military costume and sandals holding a posy of flowers, his seated female companion clad in peasant dress, holding a sealed letter clutched in the beak of a dove perched on the folds of her skirt, a recumbent lamb by her feet, the group before leaf encrusted bocage, on oval naturalistic base, the underside with underglaze blue crossed swords mark and incised model number A29.,and impressed and painted numbers 125 22, 20cm high
