A matched pair of late 19th century Meissen porcelain figures of a shepherd and shepherdess

both clad in 18th century dress, the male figure clad in lavender breeches and a floral coat and holding a sheet of music and singing, a recumbent lamb to his side on rustic rocaille cast circular base, his female companion clad in a striped sprigged skirt and floral enamelled pink overskirt and bodice playing a recorder, a lamb similarly to her feet, on rust rocaille cast circular base, the undersides with underglaze blue crossed sword marks, the male figure with a cancellation mark to the glazed underside and some later red painted marks, the female figure with unglazed pad base with incised number 3 and remnants of a possible cancellation mark, 26cm high overall (2)
