in the Louis XIV style, the movement stamped Vincenti et Cie
the rectangular case with applied mask head terms to the corners, below flaming urn finials, the swept domed plateau top surmounted by four floral urn finials, the shaped arch glazed door enclosing a 5" foliate cast gilt dial, with applied enamel Roman numerals, and blackened steel hands, above a vacant oval cartouche, and twin figural mount, on a later plush ground, the swept scrolling base with applied acanthus scroll mounts on lobed toupie feet, the brass twin train movement with Brocot type suspension, striking on a gong, the backplate with makers pastille and numbered 6026.4, with pendulum, 45cm high
