Dublin Castle Light Dragoon Pistol
mid-1760s

9 in., .69 caliber round barrel with ring decoration at the breech; flat double-bridle flat lock plate with faint double line border engraving, engraved "DUBLIN/CASTLE" on the pointed tail, and crown over "GR" with crown broad arrow stamp below the pan, the inside of the plate marked "WM" and with "III" assembly number on the edge of the plate and on the edge of the steel; walnut stock; brass furniture including a butt cap with short ears, trigger guard with acorn finial and engraved "E/2" on the bow, long convex side plate with assembly number "III" on the inside surface, cast brass rammer and entry pipes; later wood rammer with brass tip.
