Flared Muzzle Flintlock Pistol
Probably John Bumford, London, second quarter of the 18th century

8 7/8 in. round barrel with ring decorated breech, and two sets of wedding bands approx. mid-way to the flared muzzle, the left side of the breech the London Company of Gunmakers' proof marks; slightly curved unbridled lock with slightly convex surface and single line border engraving, engraved "BUFORD" below the pan, assembly number "IIII" on the lower edge of the plate; walnut stock; brass furniture including butt cap with long ears, foliate edged thumb piece, trigger guard with ball finial, serpent side plate, and ring decorated sheet brass rammer and entry pipes; later wood rammer.
