British Light Dragoon Sword and Scabbard
Circa 1756

The brass hilt with open half heart counter-guard, rounded quillon and plain knuckle bow (without branch) connecting to a pommel cap, tapering ray skin wrapped grip with twisted brass wire; straight single-edge blade with false edge at the tip and two narrow fullers; the leather covered wood scabbard with "X" and line tooling, brass throat and tip.
Blade lg. 34 1/4, overall lg. 40 1/4 in.
