French Model 1734 Cavalry Sword

The brass hilt with heart-shaped counter-guard, single sweeping branch connecting to the knuckle bow and large round pommel, brass wire wrapped grip with ferrules; straight double-edge blade with flat central ridge, etched with foliate devices at the top "VIVE LE ROY" on one side, the other side with a French royal coat of arms.
Blade lg. 35 3/8, overall lg. 42 1/4 in.
