Cased Pair of English Percussion Pistols
Samuel Nock, Gun Maker to Her Majesty, 43 Regent Street, London, England, c. 1840

7 1/2 in., .55 caliber octagonal Damascus barrels, the top flat engraved "REGENT ST LONDON," and the hooked breeches with finely engraved scrolling foliate and shell decoration; flat lock plates with engraved "SAML NOCK" with scrolling foliate decoration and sliding bolt safeties; walnut stocks with checkered grip and rectangular silver thumb piece; blued steel trigger guard with engraved pineapple-style finial and foliate scrolls on the bow, oval butt cap with hinged compartment, steel rammer entry pipe; steel swivel rammer with engraved swivel and knurled tip, overall lg. 14 in.; mahogany case with brass plate and handle on the lid opening to a green baize-lined compartmented interior with brass combination powder/ball/cap flask, an ebony handled nipple wrench, a steel shot mold marked "28," an ebony and brass cleaning rod, a whale's tooth handle turn screw, a turned bone bodkin, and a tin of Warranted percussion caps; the inside of the lid with printed Samuel Nock maker's label.
